- A drug is any substance other than food, which is taken to change the way
the body or the mind works.
- Drugs can be described by placing them into different groups that often
tell us how these drugs are used.
- Medical Drugs include: allergy medicines, cold/cough medicines, minor
pain medications, antibiotics, and prescription medicines.
- Invisible Drugs include: coffee, beer, wine, and tobacco.
- Illegal Drugs include: marijuana, cocaine, Heroin, Psilocybin, and LSD.
- Drugs affect many parts of your body, including the brain.
- Once you have taken a drug, you cannot control its effects. It will
continue to work in your body until the body breaks the drug down and removes it.
