Basic Information
- Cannabis is the most often used illicit drug in Canada.
- People use in in three forms: marijuana, hashish and hash oil.
- Hashish and hash oil are stronger forms of cannabis than marijuana.
- There are more than 200 street names for cannabis, including pot, weed, boom, and herb.
- Cannabis is a mood–altering drug. This means it changes how the brain works.
- The "high" from cannabis comes from the chemical THC (delta–9–tetrahydrocannabinol)
- Regular users of cannabis can become addicted to the drug and may not be able to stop using on their own.
